GEOROC data are accessible in different ways:

1. Select according to specific geographic region to be selected graphically from a global map, optionally followed by additional filter options
2. Select from world-wide samples (or from selected samples according to 1.) using filters:
   • -Geographic locatione.g. “Hawaii”
   • -Geological settinge.g. “oceanic subduction zone”
   • -Rock typee.g. “alkali basalt”
   • -Mineral typee.g. “olivine”
   • -Inclusion typeglass
   • -Chemical compositionmajor- and trace elements
   • -Isotopic compositionradiogenic and stable isotopes
   • -Agenumerical age, geological age
